Title: Distillery Assistant
Salary: £11.75 per hour – Full Time Role
Reporting to: Company Directors and Distillery Manager.
Location: Crossgar, County Down, Northern Ireland
We are seeking to recruit a Distillery Assistant, this is a hands on role, where you will assist in the delivery of the day to day operations of the distillery covering all aspects of the Spirits production but also interacting with guests on tours and tastings.

Key Responsibilities
• Reporting to the Director of Distilling & Blending or delegated representative assist in all aspect of spirits production.
• Operation of brewing and distillation equipment under supervision of the Director of Distilling & Blending or delegated representative.
• Operation of bottling, labelling and packaging equipment for spirits products.
• Stock keeping and processing of raw materials for the production of spirits products.
• Operating control panels and valves etc as part of the process.
• Warehousing involving some manual handling of casks and use of the forklift
• General housekeeping.
• Interpretation of risk assessments, work instructions, procedures, company policies etc and acting in accordance with them.
• Undergoing training when required.
• Reporting any faults or observations to management.
• Interacting with distillery tours and distillery guests.
• Assist with events and other promotional activities, both off site and on site. This will include evening and weekend working times.
• Any other duties as deemed necessary for the proper operation of the site.

Essential Requirements
• Minimum of 1 year in a distilling or brewing environment.
• Must have attention to detail and the ability to follow written work instructions and use knowledge to problem solve when required.
• Genuine interest in learning how to make spirits products.
• The distillery has a Visitor Centre, so the successful applicant must be comfortable in interacting with the public.
• Ability to work autonomously, but also work within a small team.
• GCSE’s Grade C or above in English, Maths & Double Award Science.
• IT literate.
• Full clean driving license.

Desirable Requirements
• Recognised Process Operator apprenticeship or formal training.
• Forklift License.
